we are going trough the American Girl Doll phase

Belli is a girl of many talents and is incapable of just doing one thing at a time, so when I see other kids submerged their faces and brains in their "apps" I don't mind her wanting to run around outside and bounce on her new pogo stick, or make a mess with her thousands of barbies and the humongous house that take almost half her room space! But lately she has been obsessed with her dolls, and has discovered American girl, mostly because of all the hype of the store opening so close to us. She got her 1st AG bitty baby when she turned 4, and she named her Patty, she even cried when Patty went up in the attic for storage due to an overcrowding of toys in her room, then Patty went into storage during our recent move, she also needs to go to the doll hospital for unrelated issues, so Patty has had quite a bit mishaps . That said, when she wanted to get a "real" doll instead of a bitty baby, I went to Target, Belli had no idea, I bought her the doll, the horse, and she was happy...but what happened to that doll? she suffered the same faith as Patty, then another doll, and same thing. Until much begging and hinting what she wanted, on her 9th birthday I surprised her with a AG doll and birthday brunch.

same girl, just with a hair cut!!!

Well, it didn't stop there, she asked her dad to make her some furniture "real" furniture for her dolls, since He was so busy renovating the house I had to step in and get creative

I used this old bench we have had for years and made the bedding from old sheets, and the matress foam from a different project, no cash spent here just time.

A short summary

It has been a long while since I've been here, so here is a short summary of the past 2 years...our oldest kids are in high school ( sophmores) ,and we just celebrated their 15th birthday
(quinceanera)

and our youngest ( Belli ) 1st Communion

on the same weekend and all this while in the process of purchasing this home.

Because  (BTW) we sold our house about a year ago.
Now I hope you understand why the neglect on the blog. Although there was a little procrastination on my part. I have been crafting, sewing, cooking, and baking all along, but now I am concentrating on "settling in the house" and I have a lot of projects in mind so I'll be posting those here.

Fashion Friday - M2M top

I had purchased this GAP shorts for Belli at a "sale" but did not have a top to match, so I got thinking and came up with this top, which I literally made with scraps I already had. Now, if you want to or had to go buy these items it is @ $5.00. Now I am searching around her closet to see what else needs something M2M!

Materials used for this project: plain white T (already had but if purchased $3.00), 12" rosettes, 6" pink lace, and 4 buttons.

teacher's gifts

The end of the school year is always something we ( the kids and I) look forward to, mainly because there is no more waking up at 6AM, but for the kids is all about taking candy or little gifts for their friends to exchange with. Well I figure the teachers should get treats too, specially those who are in charge of receiving my daughter at the school entrance every morning - rain or shine, cold or hot - these ladies are there! So to Thank them and Belli's teacher for all their help and patience: ) I made these little gifts...
