Dora dress

This past couple of days I have been sorting tru my fabric stash in an attempt to use the fabric I have and not purchase anymore! As soon as I saw this fabric I had left over from about a year and a half ago -when I made Belli a dress and another I sold- I knew I had a perfect project for it: Ilaiza's birthday present, she will be turning 3 next month and from what I hear she LOVES Dora, so I quickly measured the pattern and was glad to find that I had exactly enough for a size 3T dress : )

3/4 yds of dora print fabric and 1/2 of blue polka dot fabric... just had to purchase yellow bias and 2 yd. ric rac

size 3 dora dress

This dress is so easy and quick to make, all you need is the amount of fabric listed above and about 2 hrs from cutting pattern to ironing the finished product.

07-16
we been busy with family visiting from out of town, the kids are delighted to have their cousins over but it gets kind of hectic to have something to do every day, so have not had any time to sew, or craft, but we'll get back to normal soon!

the "grown up kids" wanted to take a picture by themselves and left Belli out, well, we can't have that, so I had Belli take pics all by herself...BTW, these pics are so cheap and are ready in about 30 min!

Fashion Friday -ruffled summer shirt-

I recently got this "one star" top from a sale for $1.00, it was not my size and I do not like to wear this kind of shirts but saw potential so I didn't hesitate to purchase it.
This is the stock photo from Target -I did not think about taking a picture until I had already deconstructed it-

Belli's top was made with the collar and the bottom of the shirt, I added a red button and elastic, and the flower clip she is wearing is from the left over fabric of Gabby's vest, nothing was wasted!

the top body of the shirt was made into a vest for Gabby, I trimmed the sides to her size and added red bias for contrast

the ruffles were paired with red buttons and completely changed this plain tank top
